Mike McCabe, Master Builder/Team Manager

Mike started on the Folsom Team as a ski tester and design consultant in 2006. Mike’s task was to demand performance and durability from each ski Folsom gave him. Mike has been skiing professionally for many years, and at 6’2” and 200lbs, he has a knack for blowing up mass-produced skis. He warms up on anything steep and riddled with cliff-bands across Colorado and is known to stomp double-back flips in the backcounrty. Mike pounded every ski he tested and they never failed to impress him both in durability and performance. In 2008, he decided to join Folsom full-time. A master builder in his own right, Mike currently works with Jordan in the Folsom Custom shop, testing and retesting, consuming energy drinks and brainstorming designs. The 191cm Giver shape is his brainchild. If you ever see him on the mountain you’d better be ready to rip the fall line hard. Mike can be contacted at mike@folsomskis.com.

Ryan Prentice, Director of Sales and Marketing

Ryan Prentice has been skiing since he was two years old. In 2003, Ryan attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and quickly joined the CU Boulder Freestyle Ski Team. Throughout college Ryan also traveled on the U.S. Freeskiing tour. In 2007, upon graduating with a B.S. from the Leeds School of Business, Ryan moved to Whistler, BC and worked as a guide for the highly-acclaimed ski school, Extremely Canadian. During his stint in Canada, Ryan was a ski coach for the Whistler Freeride team, was commissioned to appear in numerous ski films and photography, and also tested new shapes and designs for the newly-formed Folsom Custom Skis. In the fall of 2011, Ryan joined the Folsom Custom Ski Team as part-owner and director of sales and marketing.

Andy Patchin, Design/Photography

Andy is the design guru at Folsom and a passionate skier, skater and surfer. Andy is responsible for many of the topsheet graphics we offer. He is also a talented photographer whose photos can be found all over our site. Andy lives all over and graces us with art and photos on a regular basis. He has his own design firm ORCA DESIGN and can be contacted at orcadesign.ap@gmail.com.

Jesse Durrance, Partner

From the day he could fit into ski boots, Colorado-native Jesse Durrance grew up chasing his father and grandfather around the slopes of Aspen, Colo. He joined the Aspen Valley Ski Club and raced until the age of 18. Jesse then attended college at the University of Colorado at which time he also competed in Big Mountain competitions combining skiing with mountaineering. Since then, Jesse’s ski adventures include everything from descents of Denali, Mermolejo, and Chimborazo to various unnamed peaks in destinations worldwide. As a partner with Folsom Custom Skis, Jesse plays a number of roles in addition to testing new ski designs in the off-season in Argentina, where is currently attending medical school.

Jordan Grano, Founder/Principal Designer

The man that started it all… In 2004 Jordan was convinced there had to be a better way to build skis that would last longer and be more suited to his needs. At 5’10” and 150lbs Jordan thought is was wrong that he would blow through a pair of skis each season. It was then that the dream of Folsom Customs began. After painstaking trials and rigorous testing, Jordan never wavered in his quest to raise the level of quality, durability and customization possible in ski manufacturing. He took no shortcuts to ensure the finished product would live up to his nearly impossible standards. With countless builds and years of in-depth field testing under his belt, he is still the most passionate and enthusiastic individual in the custom shop-and it is reflected in his skis. If you have the pleasure of talking skis with Jordan you’d better get comfortable because he will give you an ear full! Jordan can be contacted at jordan@folsomskis.com.
