The Primary from Folsom Custom Skis has been a bestseller since it’s inception in 2014. In addition to satisfying the ski needs of advanced to expert level skiers across the country, the Primary has racked up numerous awards and accolades over years from Freeskier Magazine and Powder Magazine alike.
Through years of custom fitting clients onto our shapes, we found here at Folsom that we were missing a ski geometry for taller, even more aggressive skiers looking for the perfect daily driver – a ski that just so happened to fall perfectly in line with our existing Primary series.
Just in time for Folsom’s annual Summer Sale, we’re proud to announce the release of the newest member to the Primary family: the Primary Plus. Available in any length from 188-196cm, the Primary Plus measures in at 142.114.130mm with a 27m radius, making it the perfect ski to charge soft snow in the Western US, Alaska, Canada and beyond. The Primary Plus is also available in every single one of our rocker / camber profiles, giving it the versatility to perform well in any snow type.
The Folsom staff got out for a test day on the new Primary Plus last week to put it (along with a few other new geometries) through the wringer on conditions ranging from refrozen hardpack to heavy spring slush, and the reaction was overwhelmingly positive across the board. “I was amazed by how maneuverable this ski was considering its overall size and having a 27m turn radius” said Folsom President Mike McCabe. “From the moment I clicked into these skis they felt like a Cadillac, tons of power and a super smooth ride.”
