🚨 New Shape Alert: The Hayden 🚨

We’ve had questions for years asking us, “when are you going to make a kid’s ski?” We’ve thought about making kids skis before, and have made some out of other ski molds, or have simply said no. There’s not that many kids skis on the market that have impressed us with their geometry or construction, which made us wonder if we could build a Folsom quality kids ski that both parents and their children will love. After much deliberation and enough interest from ski parents, we are finally proud to announce the newest shape to the Folsom lineup: the Hayden.

The geometry on the Hayden make it an all-mountain tool, that will allow your kids to progress with their ski technique. With a 114 mm tip width and 108 mm tail width, the Hayden has enough width to ski in a plenty of fresh snow, and at 86 mm underfoot it creates easy turn to turn transition without sacrificing float. An 11 m turn radius helps to keep the skis stable underfoot when your child progresses to faster speeds, but is also short enough that they’ll learn to love moguls with how quickly the Hayden will turn.  Currently, the Hayden is offered in lengths from 132 cm to 146 cm.

“Manufacturing custom youth skis has been on our punchlist for a long time and we’re excited to finally be seeing it to fruition.  Any skiers’ experiences on snow at a young age create lasting impressions on the sport, and by hand building quality junior skis, we’re confident we can impact younger skiers’ opinions on skiing in a positive way,” said Folsom Business Operations, Max Tabor.

The Hayden is built with a full bamboo core as opposed to other kids skis that are typically built with low cost (low performance) foam cores. The bamboo allows the ski to remain playful and maintain it’s energy for a much longer time than alternative build styles.  Pair that with our Everyday Rocker and Fiberglass composite, and you have a versatile all-mountain kids ski handbuilt with Folsom quality. In terms of customization, the Hayden will only offer a top sheet graphic selection from any of our online designs.

Because the Hayden is a shorter ski, we use less materials, and since the customization options are less than our traditional custom skis, we are offering the Hayden at a build price of $849.00.

If you’ve always loved Folsom Skis and wished that you could get your kids on a pair as well, now’s the time to buy. You won’t have to deal with rental lines every year, or an employee that won’t know how to properly size your child.  Check out the Hayden’s product page, or send an email to [email protected] if you have any questions.
