NEW SHAPE: The Gambit 113

Folsom’s first flagship powder ski, the original Gambit was born way back in 2009.  The shape’s early design created a wide-waisted ski with calculated amounts of tip and tail taper to provide the ski with a responsive turn style.  The result?  A nimble powder ski with a sprinkle of all-mountain capability.  In addition to racking up countless positive reviews from individual skiers, the Gambit earned numerous accolades from Freeskier Magazine, Powder, Outside, and more.

Nearly a decade later, we’ve decided to give the award-winning shape a slight makeover, and are excited to introduce the all new Gambit 113.  The modernized geometry has two primary differences from its original design.  First, as its name implies, the Gambit 113 carries with it a svelter 113 mm underfoot platform (down from 116 mm underfoot), giving it more of an all-mountain foundation for those that prefer wider skis as their daily driver.  Secondly, we’ve maintained the shape’s 5-point / tapered heritage, but reduced both the taper amount and rocker aggression point to help with smoother edge transitions and better stability at speed.  The Gambit 113 still lends itself to be a more forgiving powder ski, but now will perform slightly higher in tougher hardpack conditions.

Two brand new molds give the Gambit 113 length ranges of 195 to 186 cm (23 m radius), and 185 to 176 cm (19 m radius).  While we’re capable of building the shape to any length within these ranges, our factory recommended lengths weight in at 193, 188, 183, and 178 cm.
